01 / FIELD PRODUCTION

Field Production for International Media

YAW STUDIO works with editors and producers who need a field partner in Gaza. We help research and shape an assignment, coordinate interviews and locations where feasible, film interviews and actuality, and provide context as the story develops.

  • Support can include on-location directing, camera and sound, Arabic–English interpretation, shot notes, captions, organised footage and agreed file delivery. We establish the scope, deadlines and practical constraints with the commissioning team before production.

Gaza-based reporting and production support for international newsrooms, broadcasters and documentary teams.

02 / HUMANITARIAN COMMUNICATIONS

Humanitarian & Advocacy Communications

Photography, video and written stories for humanitarian programmes, donor communication and advocacy campaigns in Gaza.

  • Each assignment begins with its purpose: who the material is for, what it needs to explain and where it will appear. YAW STUDIO works with programme and communications teams to plan interviews, visual coverage and the editorial approach.
  • Outputs can include photographs, filmed interviews, human-interest stories, short videos, captions, subtitles and versions for campaigns or donor updates. Informed consent, privacy and the dignity of contributors guide production and editing.

03 / DOCUMENTARY FILM

Documentary Production & Directing

Original and commissioned films developed through research, character-led storytelling and purposeful cinematography.

  • YAW STUDIO develops documentary projects from the first story question through research, filming, editing and delivery. Yasser Abu Wazna directs interviews and observational scenes with attention to the choices, relationships and wider context that give a story its depth.
  • Projects can be developed independently or with broadcasters and producers. Directed works include Paralestine and Left Hook, demonstrating an approach grounded in contributors’ lived experience and careful visual storytelling.

04 / TECHNICAL WORKFLOW

Technical Resilience & Broadcast Standards

Camera, sound and delivery workflows planned around the assignment and the realities of working in Gaza.

01

YAW STUDIO plans recording and delivery around each brief, accounting for power, connectivity and field conditions. Adaptable camera and lens choices, multichannel interview audio, practical power arrangements and media backups help maintain continuity during production.

02

Before filming, we agree on recording specifications and handover requirements with the commissioning team, including format, frame rate, audio tracks, captions, file naming and transfer. We check and organise the material so remote editors can work with it efficiently.
